Finally, Washington’s Congressional delegation and state legislators should recognize that communities actively working to solve health care worker shortages may need some financial assistance to support their work. Initiatives that involve grants for data collection should be supported. Communities need resources to support collaborative efforts in solving the personnel shortage. Grants for community-based recruitment and retention programs also deserve support.
